Half-Life® 2: Episode 2 è il secondo episodio di una trilogia di giochi creati da Valve, che ampliano le avventure del premiato universo di Half-Life®. Nei panni del dottor Gordon Freeman, eravate rimasti al momento della fuga da City 17 insieme ad Alyx Vance, mentre la Cittadella esplodeva in una tempesta di proporzioni inaudite. In Episode 2 dovrete affrontare le forze Combine e attraversare White Forest per consegnare ad alcuni scienziati della resistenza un pacchetto di informazioni cruciali rubato alla Cittadella. Episode 2 amplia la premiata giocabilità di Half-Life grazie ad armi e veicoli esclusivi e creature tutte nuove.

Following the destruction of the Citadel in City 17, Gordon Freeman and Alyx Vance find themselves stranded in the surrounding countryside. Alyx carries vital intelligence stolen from the Combine, data that reveals the location of the Combine's homeworld and could allow the human resistance to shut down a superportal forming above the ruins of the city. Pursued by Combine forces desperate to prevent the information from reaching the resistance base at White Forest, the pair must cross dangerous terrain filled with hostile creatures and enemy patrols to deliver the data before the portal fully opens and enables a massive Combine reinforcement.
